Thank you for helping the fight to slow down the Vista Ridge water grab. I just spoke with a San Antonio voter who is outraged that the Council is rushing to ink this $3.4 billion deal -- with two week's notice. He already understood the shenanigans developers have played in San Antonio over water deals and wants it to stop, as he said, "before they break the bank -- our wallets!"
If you can join us tomorrow (Thursday, October 30) just before 9 am at the San Antonio City Council meeting, please do! Read the details at the bottom of this message if you're coming.
Can't make it tomorrow? Do this please!
1. Right now, call San Antonio Iterim Mayor Ivy Taylor's office. Ask her to slow down on Vista Ridge -- delay this vote! Call 210.207.7060
2. If you live in San Antonio, please call your council member NOW with the same message. Call 210.207.7040 (If you don't know their name, they'll get you to the right place and remember their name!)
3. Forward this message to your friends across Texas and ask them to sign our online letter on our home page: StopWaterGrab.org
Coming tomorrow? Read this!
We have already delivered 450 letters to the Council and Mayor. They are continuing to receive them. We will bring hard copies tomorrow. If you want to help read some of the great comments, we'll give you some to read to Council and media.
If you need a ride, call us or reply to this message. Come to the Municipal Plaza Building, 114 W. Commerce. You can park across the street at Frost Bank or other parking garages in the area. Keep Linda Curtis' cell number on you, if you need to reach us -- 512.657.2089.
We will continue with our online letter after today, though we may direct it elsewhere so keep getting Texans to sign in there.
We are planning a statewide get together on Saturday, November 22nd. We'll be back with details and a report after tomorrow.
Thank y'all! Now keep those calls and letters coming in!
PS Get ready for an extended fight, y'all. Brace youselves for the next round. If you use Facebook, please like our page and comment on this.
