I Oppose the San Antone Hose Video Released Online
After two months of previews for audiences from Bryan-College Station to San Antonio, the video "I Oppose the San Antone Hose" is now available online. Released after extensive research by the League of Independent Voters of Texas, this 16-minute video explores the $3.4 billion San Antonio Vista Ridge Water Project, a concerted effort to bring the "California water model" to Texas -- a model that has has already been proven to yield disastrous results.
The San Antonio City Council is scheduled to vote November 19th on large water rate hikes to pay for Vista Ridge. The "Hose" video details the high stakes for citizens across the 142-mile pipeline: groundwater drainage, eminent domain threats, rate hikes, and unbridled growth.
San Antonio can walk away from Vista Ridge for pennies on the dollar due to a 'no-fault' exit provision that is in place for up to 30 months from the signing of the contract in November 2014.
