Water Wars East of Austin Heat Up With Court and Citizen Action in the Battle for the Simsboro

Since 2010, the people of the Lost Pines (Bastrop and Lee counties) and the Post Oak Savannah (Burleson and Milam counties) have been faced with "mega-water permit" demands from private water interests (End Op) and the city of San Antonio (Vista Ridge, aka The San Antone Hose).

Last week, a significant skirmish took place in the Post Oak District. Landowners won a reprieve with three state representatives, and state senator and Lee County Judge Paul Fisher's backing. Details here.

This coming week on Monday night, citizens and local officials will come together for important community "pow-wow" two days before a court will hear arguments long awaited by landowners who were prevented from being represented in the End Op permit dispute.
