This picture was taken in February as a tongue-in-cheek warning to the central Texas growth lobby from Lee and Bastrop County landowners, residents and business owners.
Just this week ads started running in Times Square, paid for in part by Hays County public dollars, to lure more people to move to Hays County! Simultaneously, Hays County politicians reworked a contract with Forestar Real Estate Group (again, using Hays County taxpayer dollars) to grab Lee and Bastrop counties' water while Forestar sues the Lost Pines Groundwater Conservation District together with each volunteer board member. Forestar also just happens to have purchased the water rights of Rep. Tim Kleinschmidt, who represents Bastrop, Lee, Caldwell, Gonzales and Karnes County. Kleinschmidt has been heard about town repeating his mantra, "You're going to get sued."
