League of Independent Voters of Texas

Dear #FIRST_NAME#Friends#:

This picture was taken in February as a tongue-in-cheek warning to the central Texas growth lobby from Lee and Bastrop County landowners, residents and business owners.

Just this week ads started running in Times Square, paid for in part by Hays County public dollars, to lure more people to move to Hays County! Simultaneously, Hays County politicians reworked a contract with Forestar Real Estate Group (again, using Hays County taxpayer dollars) to grab Lee and Bastrop counties' water while Forestar sues the Lost Pines Groundwater Conservation District together with each volunteer board member. Forestar also just happens to have purchased the water rights of Rep. Tim Kleinschmidt, who represents Bastrop, Lee, Caldwell, Gonzales and Karnes County. Kleinschmidt has been heard about town repeating his mantra, "You're going to get sued."

Read what independent leaders said today about this madness and join us this Saturday at our first Regional Round Up for the League of Independent Voters.

Who is the "growth lobby"? Come find out at the Regional Round Up (details here - please share!)

Do you now or have you owned cattle in the last 12 months? Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance asks you to take action to stop the double-tax Big Beef wants to impose on their competition. You've got until Friday on this so do it now! - click here.

This event starts when the Green Expo at the Bastrop Convention Center ends, so come on over! We still need volunteers too. Call us or reply. See ya!
