Former city of DISH Mayor, Calvin Tillman, is asking,
"Why is the Railroad Commission hiding from the public?"

Dear #FIRST_NAME#Friends#:

Calvin Tillman, on behalf of the League of Independent Voters of Texas, just filed an open records request with the Railroad Commission asking that they turn over all records "between the Railroad Commission of Texas (“RRC”) staff including, but not necessarily limited to, its Commissioners and their aides, the Executive Director and his staff, the Oil and Gas Division (“OGD”) staff, the Office of the Governor, and/or RRC oil and gas permit holders and their agents, employees, officers, directors, lobbyists, consultants and other representatives."

Calvin wants to know what prompted the RRC to implement a ban on staff talking to media or even answering questions other than via email. Seriously, this is a state agency with a $79 million annual budget that is operating in secrecy. But why?

Read this and you'll find out. Then please do comment and share widely.
