This picture was taken in Giddings last February at a crowded meeting of the Lost Pines Groundwater Conservation District. Rather than being recognized for who they are -- good citizens trying to protect a precious resource for their community -- they and the Lost Pines Groundwater Conservation District are being dismissed as “water hoarders” who live over a “drought proof” aquifer that they just don’t want to share. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Read this and sign this petition letter to the San Antonio City Council NOW urging them to slow down the Vista Ridge project that will harm TWO aquifers in central Texas! Please share it after YOU sign!
Get YOUR tail to San Antonio for the first hearing on the Vista Ridge project scheduled for THIS Wednesday evening at 6 pm, October 8th. Come to City Hall, 114 W. Commerce. Come a little early to sign up to speak, or just stand there with a "Stop the Water Grab" sign we will bring. You can also sign up to speak online here starting at 8 am that morning.
Call us at 512-213-4511 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
Thank y'all, we have a $3.4 billion tiger by the tail. If we put the stopper on this one, we'll have lots of great tales to tell our kids. (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)
PS Invite us your community, or plan to move to the Great Lakes! And, yes, we always need funds, so send some if you can.
